Strategy Track Leader 2008: Josie Anderson

Josie

I like it when things come full circle. How I met and then got to work with Josie Anderson may have a few more angles than a circle, but we got there. I think we first spied each other in the gym, passing each other as we were coming and going to workout. You build a certain level of camaraderie sweating near someone, so I naturally sat down beside Josie at a “Small Towns Can Be Cool” seminar in Charleston. It became evident she not only had workout energy, but passion for community issues as well. Before I left the seminar I asked her if she would like to volunteer for Create WV.

It turns out that Josie knows a lot about business and economic issues. When I met her she was working at a bank after recently completing her M.A. in International Relations with a focus on Economic Policy and a minor in Political Theory from Marshall University. Her B.S. is in International Business with a focus on Finance and Business Law from Illinois State University. She not only studied strategy, but her work has been about evaluating different strategies. A perfect example of the kind of person we want to attract to West Virginia and a great pick for Strategy Track Leader.

Josie is now the Senior Marketing Program Manager at Mythology Marketing. She is also very involved in Generation Charleston. She will tell you that she has a deep rooted passion to reduce economic disparity present in our world and strives to fulfill those passions by assisting businesses, employees and the community with her efforts at Mythology and various community organizations. Please welcome Josie to the Create WV team.
